Presentation of the Project ‘Clean Air for Georgia’
On September 5, 2014, the presentation of the project ‘Clean Air for Georgia’
(‘Air Quality Civil Monitoring’) was held, which is implemented by the
foundation ‘Partnership for Road Safety,’ NGO ‘EcoVision’ and ‘Elva.’ The
meeting was attended by the representatives of ministries, city hall,
council, various universities and eco clubs.
During the presentation there was analyzed the air quality monitoring data
received from the different regions of Georgia. The air quality data was
accumulated with the air monitoring sensors that are installed in different
cities. The web-page
www.haeri.ge was presented, where all the air quality
information is displayed. The causes and influences of air pollution on
people’s health was also analyzed.
The project participant organizations summed up the goals and
accomplishments of the project. Within the project, the journal ‘Clean,
Safe, Fair and Green Transport’ was presented to the wide public. During the
meeting the documentary movie about the air quality in Georgia was shown.
There was also held the discussion.
The project ‘Clean Air for Georgia’ is implemented by USAID, East-West
Management Institute (G-PAC project) and EASST. The goal of the project is
to improve the air quality level in Georgia.
