Ukraine: UN General
Assembly approves resolution calling for access to aid,
by a large majority
During the
eleventh special emergency session, 193 member states
adopted a resolution - drafted by Ukraine and 90
co-sponsors entitled Humanitarian Consequences of the
Aggression on Ukraine - with 140 votes in favour, five
against - Russia, Syria, the Democratic People's
Republic of Korea, Eritrea and Belarus - and 38
abstentions.

The European Union strongly
condemns the ruling by Moscow’s Lefortovo District
Court, to extend the imprisonment of the Russian

assistance and over 3.3 million have fled the country.
Ministers agreed to continue to contain and isolate

The EU agreed in record
time to activate the Temporary Protection Directive. The
directive, which became immediately applicable on 4
March, now offers immediate protection and a clear legal
status to millions of
people.

"discrimination, violence and racism" against those
fleeing Ukraine
The UN High
Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has condemned the
"ugly reality" that some refugees fleeing across the
border from Ukraine, and third-country nationals, have
been subjected to racism and
discrimination.

(WWDR) - Making the invisible visible - groundwater,
which accounts for 99% of all freshwater on Earth and on
which nearly 50% of the world's population depends, is
often undervalued, poorly managed and
over-exploited.
