For nearly a
decade, the government of China has been conducting a campaign
of ethnic extermination against the Uyghurs. An ethnic
minority population originally from Northwest China, the
Uyghurs are also Muslim — which officials see as somehow a
threat to their political domination. Now, China's campaign
has reached a massive escalation point. Other
countries are beginning to arrest, detain, and deport their
Uyghur residents — sending them back to China, where they are
"disappeared" and often never seen nor heard from
again.
Chinese authorities have already
rounded up more than 2 million Uyghurs, trapping them in
concentration camps where they are tortured,
electrocuted, stripped of their culture, and coerced into
forced labor. As a result, China has seen a mass
exodus of Uyghur famlies as they've fled to seek safety
abroad. An obvious choice seemed to be Muslim-majority
countries in the Middle East. But now Egypt, the United Arab
Emirates, and Saudi Arabia have been cooperating with
the Chinese government to extradite Uyghurs, with
loved ones powerless to save family members. This frightening display of international
cooperation with genocide must not be allowed to continue. The
United Nations has a moral duty to get involved. It must not
allow such ethnic cleansing to continue! Sign the petition
now!
Thank you,

P.S. Family
members who fled China's reign of terror are being deported
back — and then disappeared into concentration camps. The UN has a moral obligation to intervene
now. |
