Dear ,
We
first found Tobi on a dog meat farm in South Korea with
nearly 200 other dogs. They were crammed in small,
filthy cages, tethered by short chains, living a
miserable existence without any love or comfort of any
kind.
But
thanks to the incredible support of animal lovers like
you, we rescued Tobi and the rest of the dogs.
Sadly, we discovered that Tobi had sustained a
leg injury and required surgery. Because of the neglect
he endured on the farm, Tobi was one of the more
sensitive dogs from this rescue who didn’t like to be
touched by people and needed more time to build
trust.
HSI
was able to give Tobi and the rest of the dogs the time
they needed to heal and much-needed veterinary
care, behavioral therapy and lots of love at our
temporary shelter. Though fearful in the beginning, with
some love and understanding, Tobi learned how to trust,
and soon discovered just how much he loved playing
with other dogs, going on walks and begging for
massages, which he's grown to love. He even
impressed the shelter workers with his artistic skills
and loved the fun, enrichment activity of painting,
where he licks a treat over a plastic bag that
holds a blank canvas and paint.
Just
last week, Tobi finally had the corrective surgery he
needed to heal his leg. He's
currently recovering with his foster family, where
he'll continue to be spoiled with love and
massages until he's ready to find his forever
home.
See
the beginning of Tobi’s journey here.
Because
of supporters like you, Tobi’s blank canvas is now
filled with compassion, love and a second chance at
life. This incredible work wouldn’t be
possible without you.
Sincerely,
