Government for 120 million for meals for
Low-Income Kids during COVID-19

On June 16, 2020,
the UK government announced that it would continue
a national voucher program intended to provide
school lunches for low-income kids. This effort
was led 22-year-old Manchester United player,
Marcus Rashford who petitioned his government to
commit £120 million to the program. Rashford has
also used his platform as an athlete to raise over
£20 million for a food distribution charity
called FareShare during the
coronavirus outbreak.
