Encouraged by the success of the conference series on Sustainable Development of Energy Water and Environment Systems (SDEWES) we have strted from 2014 a regional series targeting the region of South East Europe (SEE SDEWES conferences), with conferences successfully held in Ohrid, Piran, Novi Sad, Sarajevo and Vlore. The next one in the series will be organized in the city of Burgas, Bulgaria and we hope to see you there.
Can engineering solutions mitigate the climate change before we need to adapt? How can we build low carbon energy systems? How can we integrate water, energy, transport, waste and food systems so that we decouple development from growing use of resources? What are the societal and economic challenges before implementing clearly beneficial engineering solutions? What is the role of sustainable cities and regions?
These and many other questions are being asked and answered by researchers participating in the Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems (SDEWES Conference), an event devoted to scientists, engineers, policy makers, students and other interested parties in the field of sustainable development. The first six SDEWES Conferences were held in Dubrovnik, later being also held in Ohrid, on a Mediterranean cruiser between Venice and Istanbul, Lisbon, Piran, Palermo, Rio de Janeiro, Novi Sad, Buenos Aires, Sarajevo, Cologne, Vlore, Sao Paulo, Paphos, Vina del Mar, Gold Coast, Rome, Saidia and every odd year again in Dubrovnik.
