Armenian Delegation has paid a visit to Mtskheta-Mtianeti
Region of Georgia
On March 15, 2016 Armenian delegation has paid
a visit to Mtskheta-Mtianeti
region of Georgia within the project “Forest
Fruits – Markets for Women”,
funded by Big Lottery Fund (BLF) Great Britain
and OXFAM Georgia,
implemented by NGO Rural Communities Development Agency
(RCDA);
As the same project is being carried out in Armenia, its
participant small
farmers groups have arrived to visit agricultural
cooperatives established
within the mentioned project; they shall
familiarize with the activities of
the cooperatives, share experience and
strengthen cooperation links.
During the 4 days of the visit
delegation members shall see enterprises
established in Sharakhevi,
Tsinamdzgvriantkari, Khando, Saguramo and
Nichbisi, which are mainly focused
on gathering and processing of non-timber
forest
products;
They will also have meeting with Deputy Governor of
Mtskheta-Mtianeti
region – Gocha Zeikidze and attend discussions and working
sessions at RCDA
premises on following topics: models of small enterprises
in a remote area;
NTFP national policy; Food security standards and
Technologies for drying of
crops.
