Summarizing Meeting Conducted for Media Representatives at Green Center in
Bulachauri



A summarizing meeting was conducted for media representatives at Green
Center in Bulachauri. The questions of media organizations were addressed by
Solomon Pavliashvili, the First Deputy Minister of Environment and Natural
Resources Protection, and Tornike Gvazava, Head of National Forestry Agency.



The project includes training for media representatives on sustainable
forest management issues, study field tours to forest areas and also an
element of competition.



The project is aimed at developing the competences of journalists in the
area of forestry reform, key challenges and development opportunities of
forestry policy. The winner authors of works on pressing issues in the
forestry sector will be identified in October.



The initiative is implemented by CENN, in the scope of the Sustainable
Forest Governance in Georgia project.



Project partners and financial supporters are Austrian Development
Cooperation (ADC), German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ),
Global Forest Watch, Global Environment Facility (GEF) and United Nations
Environmental Program (UNEP).
