Forum: "Youth for Sustainable Development"




On 29 April 2017, the Forum "Youth for Sustainable Development" for the
first time in Georgia was arranged at the Ilia State University. The
founders of the Forum are the following NGOs: "European Youth Center" and
"Union for Sustainable Development - EcoVision". The forum aims to increase
youth engagement and inform them on sustainable development issues, serving
as a discussion platform for young people.



The forum participants discussed topics such as climate change,
environmental education and sustainable energy.



The event was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Energy and
Environment, as well as representatives of local and international NGOs,
various higher education institutions and eco clubs, also, by successful
young people who are actively involved in environmental projects and
activities.



The forum kicked off a process, which aims to elaborate a youth strategy.
This process will last for one year and all interested people will be able
to participate in it.
