Overview:
Scheduled to coincide with the June 5, World
Environment Day, participants will consider the
relationship between poverty, climate change and
economics. These remain burning issues, whose
acuteness is even more evident with Covid-19.
The UNCCD plays a critical role in its global
efforts to slow and reduce land use change and
to improve the livelihoods of the over 1.5
billion people directly affected, a majority of
whom live in poverty. We invite you to join the
panelists to discuss applicable solutions in the
interest of humanity. This is our planet and its
protection and future are our common
responsibility.
