While small
businesses around the country have folded and millions of
Americans are still unemployed, one major corporation
is doing quite well: the online retail giant
Amazon.com. In fact, not only are they doing "well" —
their CEO Jeff Bezos's personal "worth" has grown from $73
billion to more than $200 billion, all just since the
start of the pandemic. Bezos was already the richest man in
the world; now he's nearly three times as rich as he was
before. In contrast, Amazon.com's workers are struggling
badly.
This grotesque wealth inequality
is the result of Bezos's efforts to keep his workers down.
Amazon is notoriously anti-union and also aggressive about
union-busting. Meanwhile, their many warehouses have flooded
with COVID-19 outbreaks as Bezos continues to prioritize
pushing record sales over his own employees' health. And has
Amazon shared any of its massive wealth gains with these
employees? No. Despite the fact that they are truly "essential
workers" during this pandemic, they only received a
temporary $2/hour wage increase and a $300 holiday
bonus. Amazon is making billions off the backs of
these workers. They deserve better! Sign the petition to tell Amazon.com CEO Jeff
Bezos to meet workers' demands for increased pay, proper
safety measures, and unionization!
Thank you for all that you do,

P.S. Bezos's
unimaginable wealth gain stands in stark contrast to his
workers' meager pay, long hours, and dangerous COVID exposure.

pay and safety, and allow unionization! |
