Summer eco-camp "EcoVision 2017" has started

On June 22, 2017, summer eco camp “EcoVision” has started, organized by NGO ‘EcoVision’ and supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and NGO “Citizen.” Up to 2000 school students will participate in the camp – the winners of: “SPARE” project competition, NGO “Citizen” Civil Olympics and the campaign “Save Water,” as well as the participant children of the program “Let's Learn and Rest Together,” implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science.

Summer eco-camps will be held in Kolkheti, Javakheti and Tusheti Protected Areas and also in village Salibauri, which will be organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science. In eco-camp program there are integrated educational thematic trainings and scientific works as well as many sports activities, educational games and adventure tours. The camp program also provides the establishment of healthy lifestyle among adolescents, through a variety of sports activities (rafting, mountain bike racing, Zip-Line Tour, etc.)

In eco-camps there will be held popular lectures on environmental issues by professors and experts of this field. 

Eco-camp aims to raise awareness of participants in following environmental directions:
- Local biodiversity and the importance of protected areas;
- Establishment of natural resources sustainable management principles;
- Renewable energy, energy saving/energy efficiency;
- Establishment of waste management basic principles;
- Skill of orientation in nature; How to behave in nature and safety rules;
- Increasing of civil activity.
