A
new investigative report by Equalia has revealed unspeakable violence
and neglect at a large-scale poultry farm that supplies
the supermarket chain Lidl.
Video
evidence shows sick chickens slaughtered by having their
necks wrung; one appears to be bashed and beaten against
a bucket. The footage also reveals the
unsanitary conditions in which the animals live. Images
were recorded of an operator urinating inside
the shed, birds living with the corpses of other
chickens, and exhibiting cannibalistic
behavior. There are birds
in agony, plagued with infections, sick, or
suffering from serious deformities that prevent
them from moving or accessing food and water.
Sign to demand Lidl end this
suffering now! The retail giant must join the
European Chicken Commitment and put an end to the Lidl
chicken scandal.
