The EU is ready to scrap GMO regulations.

This would open the floodgates for Bayer to flood Europe’s food system with unlabelled GMOs – stripping people of their right to choose and to know what ends up on their plates.

But there’s still time to stop this – EU leaders will negotiate the final details in September, and with massive public pressure, we could tip the balance. Join now:

The EU is on the verge of handing a huge win to GMO (genetically modified organisms) giants like Bayer – by scrapping the rules that require genetically modified foods to be clearly labelled, tested and tracked. No labels means no way to choose what ends up on our plates, on our fields and supermarket shelves.

If this goes through, people will lose their right to know what they are eating and what they are feeding their families.

The EU has long been a global leader on food safety. If it caves now, it could set a dangerous precedent, one that opens the floodgates for hidden GMOs across the world, and even greater corporate control of our food.

But we still have time. In the next months, the European Parliament will enter final negotiations with EU governments – and they’re pushing to keep GMO labelling and safety checks. Let’s show EU decision-makers that people around the world are watching, and we won’t allow corporate giants to force-feed people genetically modified foods if they don’t want to.

Tell EU leaders: Protect GMO Labelling.

GMO giants like Bayer and Syngenta have been lobbying hard to make this happen. They call these GMOs New Genomic Techniques (NGTs), and say they’ll do wonders for farmers. But the truth is that agrichemical corporations hold patents on NGT technologies and the resulting genetically edited seeds. Those patents give corporations rights over seeds, allowing them to control who can use them and under what terms – like licensing fees or restrictions on seed saving.

Labelling GMOs products is about protecting our health, our environment, and our right to choose. Without clear labels, farmers could plant GMOs unknowingly, shops could sell them unknowingly, and we could all end up eating them without a clue.  And it hands power to biotech corporations, giving them a free pass to flood our food system, all in the name of profit.

But together we can stop it. If we build a massive wave of public resistance right now, EU governments will be forced to listen, and pick people and food safety over GMO lobbyists.

Tell EU leaders: Protect GMO labelling, defend the right to safe, transparent food.

Challenging big businesses and industries is Ekō’s bread and butter
– together, we’ve stopped pesticides poisoning European crops. Today, we can demand safe and transparent foods in the EU! Are you in?
