Annotating data on graphs

During a demo of the graphs today, it was suggested adding a facility where users could add notes to points of interest on a graph...is this something that could be added easily?  I would then like to add some sort of marker to the traces to indicate points of interest which when clicked would then cause the notes to be displayed as a tool tip.
