Description: EnviroInsite is a ground-water visualization application designed for installation on every desktop.  The users group is intended as a means of making announcements to EnviroInsite users and as a form for exchange of information between users themselves.

EnviroInsite email list
I sent out a note last week to alert people to the end of the EnviroInsite User Group at Google Groups. We strongly encourage everybody with an ongoing interest in EnviroInsite to subscribe to our email list. You have two options to do so. You can respond to the email we sent out on May 9 by selecting the link in that email to confirm your subscription. The other... more »

EnviroInsite User Group
We have made the determination that a combination of the emailing services of iContact and the social media capabilities of Facebook provide a better means of communicating and hearing back from EnviroInsite users than Google Groups. If you have subscribed to the EnviroInsite User Groups you will... more »

More EnviroInsite bug fixes
I know that we just put out a release of EnviroInsite last week, but since then we found and fixed two more bugs and decided to make this available to licensed users: (1) Fixed stray lines that appeared in modeled stratigraphy on cross sections; (2) Fixed uncontrolled movement of well labels and data post labels... more »

Hello British Columbia
Like a lot of other government agencies, the British Columbia GeoBC Information Services office has made available images and maps through the Web Mapping Service (WMS) protocol. This is a great way to get stunning maps in EnviroInsite and save you the time and effort of pasting and clipping images from other sources.... more »

Progress on Enhancing Data Tables
I saw a piece of work by a talented CAD operator that made me think that it was time to update our Data Table routines. He had created something like our data tables by hand in AutoCAD and had skillfully filled the background of the header area. He also filled the cell areas to denote exceedances of standards. All in all it had a nice... more »

EnviroInsite Release
We've made some fixes and improved some features and wanted to share this with all of our licensed users. (1) Allow users to not show the leader lines on data tables and time history charts by setting the leader line weight to 0. (2) Improved and faster optimization of the locations of well labels,... more »

Particle Tracking in EnviroInsite
The particle tracking in EnviroInsite is an incredibly valuable tool that enables you to generate particle tracks following the inferred trace of advective flow in response to measured water levels. It helps to know how the routine works to achieve a reasonable and defensible result. Here's how the particle tracking is carried out in EnviroInsite:... more »

Ongoing EnviroInsite development
One of the drawbacks of the stratigraphy modeling routines in EnviroInsite has been its treatment of shallow boreholes. For boreholes that fail to penetrate deeper units, these deeper units have been treated as if they had zero thickness at these locations. The conventional work-around has been for EnviroInsite users to add deep... more »
