Tomorrow morning, We will close the ENTS list to further posts.
The list will then go into archive status. We will switch to a BBS forum. Ed
has prepared the following statement of instructions.

People will need to sign up again to join the new forum.
New members and those rejoining will need to first post one message in the
New Users Forums, before they can post in other topics. If you post in
other topics first, as a new user, you message will be sent to a moderation
queue and the posts will not appear until approve until a moderator approves
them. After making this first post, then members can post in any forum under
any of these categories Trip Reports, General Discussions of Humanities
without problem or moderation. All posts to the Science forums are
moderated and must be approved before being posted. Please try to post your
comments in the appropriate category.
Under the Administration category at the top of the index page, and in the
forum Board Information is a post entitled How to Use This BBS. This goes
over some of the basics of posting to the group. Everyone should read it if
they are unsure about how a BBS works. Read it first, then if you want more
information click on the FAQ link on the right side and immediately below
the header of the index page. Under Board Information there also are
instructions on embedding photos into a post.

As the instructions indicate, the science forums are moderated. We
absolutely need to do this to get back on track with our science mission,
but the forum has an off-topic category where you can post freely when you
just want to chat.
Ed has done an absolutely outstanding job setting up the BBS. We
all owe him. I will be sending emails throughout the day discussing features
of the BBS that may help some of you who worry about BBS forums that have
many rules and features. I want to take as much load off of Ed as possible.
He needs a rest. So I'll close here by saying that our BBS is well very
thought out and will be extremely functional. However, for those accustomed
to the Google group, it will initially appear more complicated. Please bear
with it though, the effort will be worth the switch.
