MOVING BETWEEN FLOORS IN ENTOMBED

Hi all, just wanting to know if this has happened to anybody else or if it’s just happened to myself.

 

When playing entombed, at times I like to find the stairs down from level 1 to level 2 as fast as possible so that I can go and find the first prisoner, then clean out level 2 before returning to level one and cleaning out that level before moving on down to the twilight town and the two wolves that are trying to brake down the gates to the town.

 

But at times [like just now before I wrote this message], once I’ve found the first prisoner on level 2 and have finished off the rest of level 2, trying to find the way back up to level 1 by pressing the commer button to find the staircase, the game says there is no stair case up. I mean, if I just took it down from level 1 to level 2, there has to be a stair case back up again, but the dumb game doesn’t tell me the directions to it.

 

And like I wrote above, has this happened to anybody else? Is this another one of entombs veggie patch of bugs?

It's not abug. The reason it's telling you there is no staircase back up is because you haven't found the staircase up yet. It's sort of like the staircase down, you have to find it first. If you go down to the 2nd floor from the first and ask it where the staircase down is it will not tell you until you have found the down stairs. It works the same way with the stairs up.

Yep, this is generally what I do as well, and I've experienced the same problem. What I do to resolve this issue is once I've stepped down to level 2, I'll step out one of the doors of the stair room, then step back in. It should then tell you there's stairs going up, and now you can go about hunting for your second char there on level 2, then find the upstairs to go back to level 1 and finish that off.  It's never failed since I've started doing this, though unfortunately it won't help in this current game. hth
