Assunto: [Entombed] features in new version of Entombed 1.05K

Hey out there…

I’m new to Entombed. I was loking for a dungeon crawler or text based
version of AD&D when I came upon Entombed just before Xmas of 2011. I played
the demo 9much to the chagrin of my wife who was left doing her own thing).
I’ve since bought the full version and have been playing it slowly when I
have time.

So hail to you all!

Does anyone know of any new features in the new release (1.05 K) of
Entombed. By the way, I think this game is great.

I’ve been looking for a game of this sort for a long time since I have lost
the ability to play dungeon crawlers due to my decreasing vision. I can
only hope that the game gets better and better. Jason, any new ideas for a
sequel? Are you open to some more suggestions?

Have you ever tried to contact TSR and show them your game. I used to be a
die hard AD&D gamer and miss playing it!

There's two versions available, 1.02k which can be downloaded from the
driftwood download page (the upgrade package is actually 1.02k and not 1.02i
as the page says). There's also 1.05b test version that fixes a few bugs,
but it can be rather tricky to install. I'm not on the machine that has the
link, so somebody else will have to give the info.

This should be the link for the 1.05B test

Hi, just tried downloading entombed 1.05B test from the link given below by Allan Thompson. Once setup reached 100%, a message came up saying download did not complete and this may hurt your computer.

What’s up with the 1.5B test version of entombed? I tried downloading it from the driftwood audio game website where I got the original game from and it just set my game back to demo version or something. All it had was sappi5 as voice instead of jaws as it has in the version I’m currently using and when I tried to play a game, it was as just like when I first downloaded the demo version with the guy’s voice telling the story.

Hi,
when you start entombed, does it, after the guy tells the story, tell you what version you got running? It should tell you if it is the 1.05B test. If it is, all you need to do is enter in your  user name and password and unlock the full game again. You will have to get back aol the secret cards and stuff, but it will be running the same. In the B test version, thieves   pick locks can work up to the 25th level, meaning you can open all locks you come across, as long as you level the skill up to five.

Hi, the current version I’m running is 1.02k and I’m reasonably happy with that version since it has the jaws voice and not that stupid sappy5 voice which I can’t understand a word it says.

If there was a way to change the voice from sappy5 to jaws in the game, I’d be happy to try the newer version out, but since it’s already hard for me to understand the sappy5 voice, I barely let the guy talk about the game that I switch it off.

HI,

On the main menu, go to preferences. There you can change many setting. One
of these is the voice synthesizer. Another is to have it bypass the intro
message. Give it a look and see what there is to change.

Plus, at least for now, you can back up the main 4 files in the all players
folder when installing a new version. copy them back and you will have your
high score list, your preferences, and all unlocked items,

Since I'm at my usual machine, I'll be happy to repost the links both for
Entombed and SQL, as well as the instructions for installing the SQL.
Entombed 1.05b test:
http://www.blind-games.com/newentombed/EntombedSetup.exe
SQL Compact 3.5 SP2:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5783
This download is a self-extracting exe made by Microsoft. Extract it to a
folder you can easily find, which will contain three files:
install.txt, SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi, and SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.msi

As the install.txt states, if you're running a 32-bit version of Windows,
install SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi. If you run a 64-bit version of Windows,
then run SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi followed by SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.msi.

If you're not sure whether your Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit, there's a
couple easy ways of finding out. Bring up Windows Explorer to show the list
of files and folders on your computer's c: drive, which is where most people
install Windows. If you have both a program files and a program files (X86)
folder, you have 64-bit Windows. Also check your Windows folder, if you have
a syswow64 subfolder, then you also have a 64-bit version of Windows.
Otherwise, if you only have the one program files folder and no syswow64,
you're running 32-bit Windows.

Once you've installed the SQL Compact 3.5 SP2, try running Entombed. Good
luck.

Ok, as long as your happy, grin.

But I am confused about the newer versions not allowing you to use the eloquence synthasizer from jaws. Preferences should have an option to let you choose the one you want.
Also, I know there is all sorts of much better voices that can be downloaded for Sappi 5. For instance I use  one called Daniel which is a thousand and 2 percent better then the original microsoft  voices provided.
Did you know about those, and how to access them?
