I'd like to know that myself. The latest version I have is 1.02K.

That's my latest version too but I often asked myself if there is a newer
than I have.

The link is below...warning however, there is some  that have complications with  installing the game. There is some posts that can help with that if you have trouble however.
In the 1.05B test which this version is, the pick locks skill works all the way to the bottom  of the dungeon unlike previous versions. Also I think some other fixes were made in that version.

Ok, well I think I have the set up.exe. I will put it on send space and give the link tot he list.
I renamed the set up file so I could identify it, I don't know if that will affect shortcuts or anything like that.

I downloaded it and installed it but everytime I try to run it I get
the standard Microsoft Windows dialogue that just says close program.
This is extremely perplexing since just about every other version 've
tried runs just fine. I'm running Windows Vista (32-bit I assume).

Hello,
I think we get this thread, with the exact name about once or twice a month.
It's on the archives.
Here's what the last email said:
1.05b is a test beta version, hence the b after the number. It has problems
installing the SQL Compact components, let me post the instructions I posted
the other day in a few minutes on how to install SQL if you want to try
1.05b again. Otherwise, the last stable version was 1.02k.

"The Entombed installer doesn't install SQL Compact 3.5 Service Pack 2
correctly, which this version of Entombed needs to function properly. I'm
guessing since others have had this problem, you may also be having the same
issue. Try installing the SQL yourself.
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5783
This download is a self-extracting exe made by Microsoft. Extract it to a
folder you can easily find, which will contain three files:
install.txt, SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi, and SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.msi

As the install.txt states, if you're running a 32-bit version of Windows,
install SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi. If you run a 64-bit version of Windows,
then run SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi followed by SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.msi.

If you're not sure whether your Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit, there's a
couple easy ways of finding out. Bring up Windows Explorer to show the list
of files and folders on your computer's c: drive, which is where most people
install Windows. If you have both a program files and a program files (X86)
folder, you have 64-bit Windows. Also check your Windows folder, if you have
a syswow64 subfolder, then you also have a 64-bit version of Windows.
Otherwise, if you only have the one program files folder and no syswow64,
you're running 32-bit Windows.

Once you've installed the SQL Compact 3.5 SP2, try running Entombed again."

Give these instructions a try if you really want to try getting 1.05b
working, otherwise just stick with 1.02k. hth

Thanks,

Brandon Keith Biggs

Hello all,

Just thought I would say that I was able to install Entombed 1.05B and
it works just fine. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit with all
Windows updates. Not sure if that helps anyone.

Thanks

Hello,
I often have this problem and it makes me angry slowly. I installed the
latest version of entombed and the sql (hopefully right) and as soon I start
entombed I get a message that I either can send an error report or not. I
don't know what I can do to solve this stupid problem. Could someone of you
help me, please?

Greetings!
Jana!

Hello,
Again, you need to install the Service pack 3. Please see my last email.
If that is installed, life will become so much easier!
Thanks,

Hello,
you're right, SQL Compact 3.5 SP2.
Install that and it should fix your problem.
"The Entombed installer doesn't install SQL Compact 3.5 Service Pack 2
correctly, which this version of Entombed needs to function properly. I'm
guessing since others have had this problem, you may also be having the same
issue. Try installing the SQL yourself.

Note:
If you're getting scared by the:
SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi
and the
SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.msi

they are:
86-ENU.msi
and the
64-ENU.msi
Just remove the first part of the name.
If you can't find your c drive under my computer, just hit windows e, and
local disk or OSC or your c drive (they all have a "c" in the name) is most
likely the first thing in the list.
Thank you,

Brandon Keith Biggs

Hello,
OK, now I really installed sql compact sp2 but the problem still exists. I
really don't know what to do now.

I got it working finally by installing the SQL service pack. About the
only bad part is that I'd forgotten that saves aren't compatible
between versions, which means that the final episode of my Entombed
Let's Play is going to have to take place with a differennt party.

Did you run the .msi files, or just the exe? Keep in mind the .exe is only
an archive file similar to a .zip, so when you run this .exe, all you're
doing is unpacking the contents into the folder you tell it to extract to.
You actually have to open the folder you extracted this .exe file to, and
run the .msi files required by your particular version of Windows. Brandon
and Allan kindly reposted the instructions for me on which of the .msi files
need to be installed for the different versions of Windows, as well as the
tips on how to determine which version of Windows you have if you're not
sure.

did you uninstall the old sql sp1 first?
unfortunately thats not in the installer.
the old 1.02k sql will not work with the sp3 sql on 1.05.
The trouble is the installer will detect sql but not that its the
wrong version so you don't know.
if you install entombed 1.05, and get issues chances are sql is old.
uninstall all sqls then install entombed again.
install detects you have no sql and installs sql.
you need to read install.txt and run 1 or both of the packages
depending on your system.
However, after that you can go to system in control panel and disable
error reports and critical error notifications and that message will
stop your program will crash with a bug message if one exists.
1.05 is still a test version.
but once you are on it due to the sqls not being the same or xna
frameworks you won't be able to run the older version unless xna 4.0
and 3.5 and sql 3.0 sp1 and 3.0sp3 are both active not sure if you
can run both.

uninstall sp2 sql then run the entombed installer.
maybe in 1.05 the install script can be modified to detect if the
wrong sql is loaded and kill it for you and so on.
right now it won't and you have to know that it uses a different spervice pack.

hmmm check windows update to make sure its updated and then if a
error log exists in entombed directory post that.
you should be able to find one if exists.
then its a bug and jayson can squash it.
