Hi all, I'm working for a project related to manage MPEG7, and i want to use entermedia to manage all Assets.
I have a question is entermedia can manage metadata in MPEG7 format or not. Because metadata field can input only single string or date time.
How can i make a field can input metadata format like this: (Because we have many actor in a film). Does entermedia support it or we must edit your source code
It's a part of MPEG7 metadata
<Creator>
   <Role href="urn:mpeg:mpeg7:cs:RoleCS:2001:ACTOR"></Role>
   <Agent>
   <xsi:type xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">mpeg7:PersonType</xsi:type>
       <Name>
          <GivenName>Roberto</GivenName>
         <FamilyName>Benigni</FamilyName>
       </Name>
    </Agent>
    <Character>
       <FamilyName>Driver (Rome)</FamilyName>
    </Character>
</Creator>

        <Character>

Hope to see your question soon
Thanks and best regards

Hello,

Thank you for the information about MPEG7. This looks like an XMP schema and if that is the case then yes we can support it using exiftool as we do now.

The more complex, multi-value nodes may be problematic. We would have to test it. Do you have any sample files you want us to test for you?

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for your response.
I've investigated exiftool before, and when read a structured XMP format, exiftool will output like that: http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/struct.html
Yes, MPEG-7 is very similar to XMP, but it's only a XML file which describe an asset, not embed in asset like XMP.

This is a simple metadata of MPEG7 format: http://www.w3.org/2008/WebVideo/Annotations/wiki/NightOnEarthMPEG7
- Our solution now is store multi-value in HTML (using ul and li tag)and store it in a property field of data.xml. Property tag will have render datatype is HTML for viewer.
- Then write a webservice which convert data.xml to Mpeg7 format and export it.
- But very hard to find the way to edit an tree node field, our customer know nothing about HTML :(.
So i want to know does Entermedia support a field can input complex data like a tree node structure:(

Thank you for your attention.
Hope for your answer soon ^^
Best regards

Hi Christoper,

I'm Dzung, who work with Thong in the same team.

Honestly, we're serious with this issue.

We work in Television Industry and we're going to expand our business in that.

We have just started the project subjected to use Entermedia as the main tool in editing media's metadata.

Regarding to the requirement, we have to manage all those stuffs with their MPEG7 metadata standard. However, Entermedia only supports simple fields (key & value) which can't satisfy our expectations.

Could you check with your technical team about this issue?

We really need to be sure that Entermedia can be customized as our needs then we may buy your technical support packs.

Hope to get your responses soon.
