Subject: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Renewable Energy Potential in Tompkins
County - Presentation April 30

Renewable Energy Potential in Tompkins County

April 30, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Tompkins County Public Library

The Tompkins County Planning Department is hosting a presentation by
four Cornell graduate students from the fields of management,
engineering and planning who will be discussing the structure and
status of Tompkins County’s energy supply.

The students worked closely with Tompkins County staff over the past
year to quantify the energy production potential of several key
renewable energy supply resources in Tompkins County:  wind, solar and
biomass.  The work of these students is the first step by the Tompkins
County Planning Department to create a County Energy Road Map to
determine the most effective and efficient means of meeting the
community’s long-term energy goals
