Hi folks :D
I'm a Ubuntu 12.04 user and I use emesene to connect ever since I deleted Windows from my life, but since I upgraded my system, my emesene ppa hasn't released any package for Precise Pangolim yet. I know that there are some people who take themselves the responsability for packaging the system for each Linux distro (and windows exe's also) but it's been a while since emesene ppa is still stuck on a previous version that has some annoying bugs.
Emesene now is currently on version 2.12.4 (Latest Github ZIP download Version), and no new on ubuntu users. So I wanted to ask if anyone could help me out on how to package the latest version for ubuntu 12.04 and 11.10 user (systems I have installed here), cause I've never done something like this, but would love to help out others 12.04 users that miss our ppa up to date. :)

I'm also interested in the protocol to package the latest versions on
Ubuntu.

So far, I'm learning how to build deb packages (http://
www.linuxfordevices.com/c/a/Linux-For-Devices-Articles/How-to-make-deb-packages/),
but since for all this we would need to learn also about ppa's; which
tutorial do you recommend us?

Since I'm new on this, what are the things we should never forget
about packages, folders and file's naming conventions?
There's other kind of details we should care about?

Thank you for your time for reading this!

Have a look at this guide. http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/337
Also note, there are now GUIs to help create a deb package with ease.
