You are not likely going to like what I have to say. But experience
with numerous google groups and changing email addresses for them has
taught me that .......... what ever gmail account you use for your
groups is going to collect more spam than others you do not use.
Personally I think what you are attempting to do is a waste of time as
far as your google groups goes. Yes by all means make a new gmail
account to use for your self or for personal reasons. It is also
always a great idea to have yourself listed as owner under two
different email accounts. Example one gmail second one either yahoo
or hotmail. This makes it so you can access your group regardless of
what problems one email system might be encountering at the time.
So if your primary email address for that group is the one getting the
spam leave it as that and let it be the one to get the spam.
Any yahoo or google group can have as many owners as the original
owner chooses it to have. I always advise that every owner has
themselves as owner under two different email services. Example
1yahoo email account and 1 gmail email account. I also advise that
you choose someone who you can trust totally as another owner in the
event that you become ill or worse and are not able to deal with your
group and they can carry it on or whatever it is that you request them
to do under those circumstances
