i just noticed this change from yesterday that removes ffap: https://github.com/emacs-helm/helm/commit/c4cad2a2c86c24acc89ce73424b474fc782b9b32 . so sad!

i'm sympathetic to removing buggy code if it's not going to be supported well, so i won't ask for ffap back. i'll probably end up copying the ffap sources into my .emacs, though, since i use them often. ah well.

Hi Ryan,
Just out of curiosity, in which cases these ffap sources are useful for
you ?

Isn't just doing C-x C-f (helm-find-files) on a filename in a buffer enough ?

good point.

i like helm because it's so universal and non-modal. it's a single tool, with a single interface, that handles a wide range of things well. i can use it the same way regardless of the specific kind of things i'm interacting with.

in this case, i liked that i could press my helm-for-files key and have it Do The Right Thing, including ffap if appropriate, and i didn't have to pay conscious attention to what specifically i'm doing and which function to use.

it's a very minor complaint though, and i'm not asking for it to be reverted. i love helm in general. thanks again!
