Wildflowers at North Arm trails

I believe it is Trailing Arbutus that is growing right in some of the North Arm hiking trails. Some bright red berries added a little color to the ground also.

If you are going to pause to take a picture of a trailing arbutus in flower, make sure you take time to smell its fragrance.  It's heavenly, in my opinion. I know at least one poem that has been written about the aroma of that flower.  Usually found in dry jack pine sites, like the ones you find in the Echo Trail area.
