John Deere Day: November 23, NDSCS, Wahpeton 
  FYI, John Deere Day at NDSCS, Wahpeton, ND is Monday, 23 November. This day is directed to inviting interested students and their parents to visit the school and the John Deere Tech program. If you have a student who is interested in attending and coming back to one of our 16 dealerships in SD, MN, ID, MT or WY to work, please let us know and we would visit with them about a possible student tuition assistance program or possible internships. Jackrabbit Leadership Invite 
  9th Annual Jackrabbit Leadership Invite St. Thomas More Parish Hall Thursday, November 5, 2009 @ 8:00 am The SDSU Ag Ed/Collegiate FFA Club announces the 8th Annual Jackrabbit Leadership Invitational to be held November 5, 2009 St Thomas More Parish Hall in Brookings. The invitational will give your students a chance to practice their leadership skills and prepare for the district events. There is no limit to the number of students you can bring per event. American Soybean Association Scholarship Opportunity 
  FYI... $$$$$$$ ...Dear educators, Please read the following information about a scholarship opportunity from the American Soybean Association. If you have questions regarding the scholarship please contact ASA directly. The 2010-2011 Secure Optimal Yield Scholarship is a $5,000 one-time award presented to a High School Senior who is going to pursue Agriculture as a degree area of study at any accredited College or University of their choosing. The scholarship is managed by the American Soybean Association and is made possible through a grant by BASF. The scholarship will be presented in $2,500 increments per semester. The student must maintain successful academic progress and be in good standing with the College or University to receive the full amount of the scholarship. Candidates may apply on-line Sept. 14, 2009 through November 16, 2009. Final Selection will be made the first week of December. The student will be notified prior to an official announcement made in March 2010, during Commodity Classic in Anaheim, CA. BASF sponsors the winner and one parent to attend Commodity Classic for two days to participate and receive special recognition at the ASA Awards Banquet on the Friday night of Commodity Classic. meeting date September bad INPUT NEEDED ASAP 
  Officers we need to move the September meeting date as there is very little if any time in September to meet without conflicting with an activity! I'm suggesting 8/31, this coming Monday, as an informal meeting and grilling at the school, then maybe we could maybe do speed volleyball and compete against each officers fantasy team?... more »
