thus, the idea of 'chips of state' processing in world circuitry was
sketched out as a way of modeling current events in such a context.
e.g. problematic situations could be considered as short-circuits and
approached in terms of balancing a shared circuitry.
this then becomes a basic starting point for grounding other ideas,
which build upon this conceptualization. much of it is based on
paradoxical logic as presented, in that it is the basis for such
reasoning. and then, next, there is the foundation in ideas and
concepts, which relates to philosophy and thinking and
conceptualizing. and then there are various modes of interacting,
such as with 'architecture' and 'art' and 'politics' and such, that
can bring the concepts into more tangible physical forms, by which to
evaluate the ideas.
it is in this way that this same way that a basic idea of
'infrastructure' as being a cultural system and architecture, itself,
(based in paradoxical logic) is directly related to issues of world-
circuitry and machines-of-state and the like. this was the basic
conceptualization the 'architecture of electricity' thesis developed:
that what once was modeled in the traditional paradigm now exists in
this emergent electromagnetic paradigm. thus, e.g.
the cultural (economic, social, political) order of 'western'
development has been transformed and extended with electromagnetic
infrastructure and its ordering.
thus, to speak of issues related to 'civilization' or 'culture' or
'order', today, means that while it may be perceived as being part of
the traditional viewpoint on these concepts, that instead, in fact,
the nature of reality has since become electromagnetic and has become
a new foundation for these very concepts, recontextualizing them.
thus, to reference 'civilization' would be to do so in an
electromagnetic environment, in which 'civilization' is electromagnetic.
this is a major conflict today because 'ideologies' which are based
in various points-of-view of events are most oftentimes reasoning
from a traditional perspective, by which to seek to approach and
engage issues- yet this traditional approach is bounded, and itself
bounds, the situation it seeks to describe- and thus 'distortion'
enters into viewpoints in relation to ideas based on a traditional
views of the nature of reality, which has become detached from
physical law, empirical knowledge, and the electromagnetic nature of
reality. what this means is that, like the problem of ideology (see
earlier diagram) there is an inherent bias which leads to faith and
belief in a given modeling of reality or P.O.V. which itself replaces
the questioning of all that is, with a consensus about what is and
what exists, detached from any questioning of previous assumptions
and decision-making. this is another way of saying that a 'Western
worldview' as much as an 'Islamic worldview' could both exist in
terms of traditions, and speak of things like 'civilization' or
'culture' and even 'peace', yet because of the distortions inherent
in previous modeling (not due to intentional human error, due to
change not yet modeled) these various relative perspectives of the
shared situation do not scale into a universal view of what an idea
such as a shared 'civilization' would or could be, at world-scale,
given the limitations of traditional models for an entirely new
situation.
this is the idea about human beings inhabiting the planet Earth and
what can be done about it, together, when it seems even language is
getting in the way of ideas, such as how to go about designing in
such a complex environment. the chaos of an ecological system that is
not even agreed exists (if only by the current .US administration,
ref. global climate change).
this situation has been proposed as to be related to logic, and how
things can be considered at a fundamental level of considerations.
and part of this aspect is to be able to 'bridge views' of what is
going on, by what is shared in common. and, if taking the existing
situation of ideologies which may compete yet seek to cooperate for a
shared view at world-scale, by which to relate, that when
encountering an issue for finding a common relation, by which to
build a bridge across divides, that the default viewpoints and
reasoning are inherently unstable in mediating this new situation,
because they are bounded in modeling what exists as it exists, and
for pursuing other approaches outside of a given worldview based on
previously answered ideas, i.e. any given ideology.
and what has been proposed is that the traditional views are unable
to make such bridges, because the paradigm has changed- the reality
has changed- and thus all logic, language, and identities are also
recontextualized in terms of observers, observations and decision-
making -- because they exist in an electromagnetic situation which,
until it is engaged as being the shared foundation for relations,
works fundamentally different than the previous modeling which has
been entirely proven unable to function in this new ly emerging
context as it exists today, and not in early 20th century views, etc.
thus, the question of a shared 'civilization' at the world-scale is a
question of Electromagnetic Civilization, as being paradigmatically
different than any and all previous civilizations and yet an
extension of the many traditions into this new ordering, based on
infrastructure of media, power, and technology and the economic,
social, political cultures these sustain.
this is to say that this 'world circuitry' could be considered a
nascent Electromagnetic Civilization, which is beginning to be formed
in the first moments on the other side of a paradigm shift, from that
of a pre-electromagnetic traditionalism, to an electromagnetic-based
reality, and of representations and empirical knowledge based upon
its nature.
and, as such, electromagnetism becomes a new context, which
'recontextualizes' what was previously already defined (answered) in
traditional views, about what exists, into a new realm of questioning
previous assumptions, concepts, hierarchies, relations, etc. thus,
what may be well-known as 'civilization' within a traditional view,
and its many and various limitations to achieving such a shared
civilization at world-scale, today, by which to relate- instead
becomes a question of what is a civilization in this new
electromagnetic context? this is to say, Electromagnetic Civilization
becomes a question, almost as if it is to re-imagine all
conceptualizations in terms of existing in a new electromagnetic
reality. which may sound fantastic, even magical, and yet it is
exactly this situation that must be engaged so to once again 'ground'
ideas at the world-scale in relation to one-another, yet which may
function paradigmatically apart from previous interpretations/modeling.
without this empirical grounding of ideas in the nature of reality,
as it actually exists, it becomes literally impossible to engage the
ideas themselves (i.e. civilization) beyond the limits of traditions
and their ideologies, which make it impossible to bridge this gap
between views. unless the view is already shared. and
electromagnetism is this bridge.
yet, if the empirical knowledge does not exist today, by which to
base ideas on, how can it be possible to build within this new
context if there is no standard by which to relate in this shared
reality? it is, again, impossible. excepting sharing of some basic
ideas, until there is significant investment in creating and
developing this new foundation for relating. it would need to take
what may exist only as free-floating conceptualization and place it
within a shared institutional context and interdisciplinary framework
by which to network and evolve and relate basic ideas, into a larger
conceptualization of electromagnetism.
with such a commitment to this basic recognition of an
electromagnetic paradigm, it would be possible to actually address an
issue such as 'civilization' in an electromagnetic context, by those
expert at questions of civilization, yet held in a new context, so
that what once existed as answers now become questions: and new
learning is required so as to more accurately model and engage what
is going on, and from multiple points-of-view in this world-
panopticon. each experiment, each example, each model thus would be
added into a larger empirical modeling of the Electromagnetic Nature
of reality, and this thus would be to reconstitute science, the arts,
and other disciplines in a shared framework of ideas, which begin by
being related, both locally and in the world at large.
so much of this, then, awaits doing. and time is running out,
frankly, to be able to sustain not doing anything to make the
necessary changes with the full force of governments, citizens, and
organizations alike. what will it take to free up the resources that
are locked-into traditional modeling of events, which are completely
distorted in being able to effectively deal in this new reality, to
open up this new paradigm of electromagnetic exploration, by a
collaborative effort at world-scale, which all would benefit from?
this is no longer a suggestion, or a plea- this could also be
considered a warning. doing nothing risks not being able to do
something, at a given point, because pressures are too great.
the whole 'delicate balance' of the ecological dance, could
potentially lose all patterning.
in any case, the important of this electromagnetic paradigm and its
being the basis for new conceptualizations of shared reality is not
arbitrary. it is fundamental to acknowledge and mediate ideas in
terms of electromagnetism, else it doesn't work, in this new
paradigm. any reference to 'universals' from traditional perspectives
and ideologies cannot scale to this new electromagnetic ordering,
such as 'civilization', without considering this civilization as
being at its core an electromagnetic one. which is to recontextualize
the question itself- and the concept/model becomes key, an opening by
which to reconsider the ideas themselves, outside of previous
ideological distortions.
and, believe it or not, it appears that much of the 20th century was
devote to attempting to grapple with most of this, already, and has
set the stage for such a transformation, of ideas, of thinking, of
conceptualizing- and now it is simply a matter of recognizing this is
the situation and that changes in thinking itself, in fundamental
philosophy and worldview, stand in the way between living in the
chaos of a deteriorating old order of things and a newly emerging
electromagnetic order which unites both the local and global scales,
and becomes a common referent upon which to locate perspectives in a
shared panoptic situation. another way of saying it is that, like
'architecture' is said to be representative of a given culture and
represents its economic, social, and political order, so too that now
it is the electrical infrastructure which performs this function,
seen in the aesthetics of wooden distribution poles and metal
transmission pylons and radio/tv broadcast towers, cellphone masts,
substations, power plants, common at world-scale.
this electromagnetic pole is a common reference point, by which to
place people in a new electromagnetic ordering of the environment and
our relationship with its nature. it is the foundation, also, for
cyberspace, and lightspeed communications and power. it is the
materialization of the universality of science and technology, as
driven by modern development. it has become the new foundation upon
which the world is being built. and it is in this 'architecture' of
electromagnetic infrastructure, that civilization now is to exist.
fact. incontestable. and important to acknowledge. this worldwide
circuitry. environs. and not dealing with this situation is to be
unable to develop this shared ordering, to align the many traditions
into a common framework which has naturally evolved, and pre-exists
and may even stand-outside of, traditional ideological constraints--
it may function as if an autonomous zone, in some effect or degree-
in which experimentation still exists, is not predetermined- if only
it were to become the medium by which to consider ideas... actions,
movement, development, functioning, and relations within and between
circuits.
this goes back to the common viewpoint of looking at a computer
motherboard in which there is a electronics circuitboard with a CPU
and various other components all related to eachother in a kind of
electromagnetic ecology. and many have observed that it appears very
much like a city, all these components, if taken at another scale.
and so too, at the scale of a city, it may be that buildings also
function as if components in a circuitry which is tied together by
the wiring of the electrical grid, which has all these buildings and
their particular programming relating or failing too and short-
circuiting. though, again, it is this conceptualization of a
circuitry and at each scale it is this electromagnetic ordering of
things which unites across scales. so too, with the individual mind
and its processing, and the state of the world, via Plato's Republic.
that there is some continuity involved.
to see one thing or another is a difference between paradigms, and
the outcome is dependent upon this dueling of realities, between a
binary view in which there are no relations, and a paradoxical view
in which there may be more going on than previously considered- which
could be the difference between success or failure at world-scale.
and this is why until those 'who represent' begin representing this
electromagnetic ordering, that what is possible cannot be achieved
beyond the existing limitations. and it is a question of how to make
it happen, then, if there is no support for developing ideas which
can be shared, beyond the confines of personal musings, so to
actively engage this paradigm - so that those who are navigating
these complexities have the resources they need to relate in such
environments, to collaborate and cooperate beyond the limits of
history and traditional worldviews, to a shared situation to which we
all equally belong.
because, without this transformation, it is impossible to scale ideas
beyond particular distortions, to enable concepts to exist in
empirical relation to one another, via various expertise, by which to
model, and by which to effectively manage, to lead, and to shape the
situations so as to navigate them beyond the predictable downfalls of
past history. e.g. today the situation basically exists that either
there is mideast peace, of WWIII. is this really a choice, it is
actually a question of our sanity versus automated madness? is it a
truly question of free-will of the human state and a shared human
union, -- what is standing in the way between knowing what needs to
be done, and getting to work on it? to the degree that it can and
will effectively address changes now desiring to be made.
it is in this way that an idea such as Electromagnetic Civilization
provides an example of how this paradigmatic shift is both
revolutionary and evolutionary. if considered from a traditional
perspective, it would equate with revolutionary changes which
overthrow a given way of modeling events, it would force the
reconsideration of decision-making and basically necessitate the
opening up ideologies to question their basic assumptions. it would
require changes which is healthy for a growing and living system in a
dynamic environment. which is also its ecological aspect, in evolving
and adapting to changes in the environmental circuitry so to
successfully survive as lifeforms. it would be to better understand
and optimize relations between what now exists and how to relate to
it, rather than using models based on centuries old viewpoints that
may be limited and even distort this basic relationship, which
instead precipitates entropy and devolution.
much of this relates to wanting to share some ideas about this world
circuitry, as it relates to the Middle-East. and to go further into
this 'circuitry' by way of its connection to the electrical and
electromagnetic infrastructures as a shared ordering at world-scale.
and that, this electromagnetic ordering of infrastructure relates to
a sharing of culture, in an electromagnetic context, and its
subsequent reality based in electromagnetic nature. such as radio
waves and having television and radio broadcasts and mobile telephony.
and that, the economics of these things, the political impacts, and
the social structures that may develop in relation to these
advancements of science and technology, define a type of an
electromagnetic culture shared the world over. yet differentiated.
there is CNN and there is Al Jazeera, etc. yet they are largely the
same concept, although localized, a similar modeling as approached
from different perspectives in a mass media panopticon.
and that, at some scale, all of this infrastructure and all of this
electromagnetic culture add up to yet a larger development at world-
scale: Electromagnetic Civilization. and if considering a question of
'civilization' it is thus within such a context in which it is most
accurately considered, in the present day, given the givens about
where we now exist.
and thus when .UK Prime Minister Tony Blair recently gave a speech
about 'civilization' and speaks to larger issues and ideas and the
need to bridge various binary 'differences', to engage the world as
it is now required- it is both a recognition of the importance of
sharing of such goals and yet also a question of how they are
pursued- by what means and methods, by what conceptualization, in
what paradigm, and reality?
from a traditional point of view, it may be believed that today's
issues are "ultimately a battle about modernity" -- yet, from an
electromagnetic perspective, it is ultimately a battle about reality.
and logic, and reasoning, and language, representation, and reason,
prior to getting to a idee fixe, such as 'modernism'. though this is
not to discredit much of the motivations for change that are shared,
it is simply a question of accurately modeling the situation and thus
avoiding the distortions of relativism that plague all ideologies.
"This is not a clash between civilisations. It is a clash about
civilisation." -- Tony Blair.
exactly, it is a clash between a traditional viewpoint of
civilization, which necessitates a worldview of conquest of one
version over another, in lineage of empires and colonialism, or in
developing a shared understanding of Electromagnetic Civilization,
which directly relates to lived experience for peoples through the
world panopticon.
without such accurate modeling, whatever the goals, they are going to
be limited and even counterproductive (devolutionary) if they are not
accurately modeling the basic environment in which things exist,
including facts, empirical truth, and perception.
therefore, if this is actually a question about 'civilization' as a
concept: it would likely be involved in issues such as planning,
design, and architecture in this new context, if it is to be a
question of building and not of destruction. and it is this
difference which also exists in the ideological view about how to
proceed or navigate from point A to point B, for as it now stands
the 'War of Terror' is based in this traditional binary approach to
modeling of events, which has proven to be a thoroughly corrupt and
distorted modeling of events, in which they exist, as they exist and
not merely as they are believed or dreamed to be. it is instead the
ideas of "Mideast Peace" which can achieve this civilization of
building, which it should be noted _is the ultimate goal of Mr.
Blair's reasoning, as with most all others, and it is once again only
possible if it is going to develop an Electromagnetic Civilization,
all of these efforts, or some less universal version based on biases
of tradition, ideology.
this sharing of electromagnetic order, and ideas, is thus the
foundation for developing both a just and lasting peace, in the
Mideast, via a larger regional circuitry, where it does matter how
issues are multiplexed in a complex environment- where the old
modeling is incapacitated by its linear, serial progression of issue-
to-issue, when the dynamic is instead ecological, and more about
working together to find new equilibrium than trying to invade and
replace a given ecosystem with another modeling of how things should
be. maybe the changes are still possible, even necessary, so as to
evolve-- yet maybe it is a question of organic development by which
to foster environments conducive to changes which may happen
naturally, given the circumstances. rather than an industrial
mindset, plague of modern ideology and the 'way things do not work'
for human beings (versus machines) - where the ethics, morality, and
mindset of machines are given precedence, and become the measure by
which value, worth, and culture are then to be judged.
if this new electromagnetic environment and its ordering and its
emerging cultural connections, this 'circuitry' were to be
acknowledged and foundational for relations, it would be possible to
begin moving in a direction towards Electromagnetic Civilization.
though without such moves, and support for their development, it
virtually imprisons what is possible and impossible, which defaults
to biased ideologies of traditional viewpoints by which to make
decisions at world-scale which are opposite of what is now required.
in this context, some thoughts on Mideast Peace will be shared, in
which there may be a middle-ground or a grey-area in views, far and
wide, in which all perspectives may have significant truth and yet
also significant errors due to distortions in the scaling of vantage,
and that to develop the good while refining if not discarding the bad
would enable many to speak of the shared events, from a shared
perspective, and not to try to pigeon-hole it into a smaller reality
and viewpoint than actually exists, for everyone in the panopticon.
