Captivate 7 does have the web page widget included and also has a you tube widget.

Have you thought about hosting your video at a video hosting site like www.ooyala.com, www.brightcove.com or www.ensemblevideo.com (or some other video hosting company)?  They provide a video player that you can embed into a webpage which can be hosted someplace (possibly at your LMS site).  Then you can go to the http://captivatedev.com/2012/08/07/adobe-captivate-6-x-widget-web-page-widget/ website and purchase the Web Page Widget which will allow you to show a webpage on one or more of your Captivate slides.  Now all we have to do is to get Adobe to include something like the Web Page Widget in the base Captivate product so everyone can do real streaming video on all platforms with Adaptive Bit Rate right out of the box.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to help create an online course and I'm having difficulty finding a way to include video in a captivate project without having to include it the SCORM package uploaded to Moodle. I have successfully uploaded the SCORM with the video packaged in it but this results in a massive file and we don't want to host that much space online. My backup plan is to just have a link in the slide.

 What can I do?
