EFBC-Feline Center: May Update

We have two new residents - Tate and Kyoke, one year old clouded
leopards. They are an unrelated pair that we hope will breed
successfully as they mature. Clouded leopards (Neofelis nebulosa) have
the longest canines for their body size of all the cats, and sometimes
the male accidentally kills the female while breeding. This is less
likely to happen when a pair grows up together. It's interesting how
different species must be managed differently - if cheetahs grow up
together, they will not breed!

There are pictures and a video of the new couple on our web site. Come
out and see them! We are open 10 am to 4 pm every day except
Wednesdays. We also have a few evening events each year. The next
Twilight Tour is June 23, with one more on September 15. Reserve your
spot in advance by calling 661.256.3793 between 10 am and 4 pm any day
but Wednesday. Tickets are $20 each and you must be 18 or older.

for our AAZK chapter's xeriscaping project. Questions and recipes for
consideration can be sent via email to aazk.efb...@gmail.com, or
by mailing in a recipe. Deadline for receipt of recipes is July 31,
2012. Any recipes not used will be kept on file.
