Venkat Subramanian This is very unique initiative by our summer interns from MOP Food science, SSN Computer Sc, KCG Engg to connect a woman mango farmer (Thangamma Mathew) to end customers in city . The students would be running this venture to demonstrate feasibility of farm based marketing and also innovative uses of social media/ecommerce/backward traceability to ensure what you get is GENUINLEY organic - since so many 'charlatans' have mushroomed now - thnx to our freind Aamir Khan and Satyamav Jayate !!

Venkat Subramanian and for the ' recently aware organic buyer' - more dangerous than chemicals used in farm, are the chemicals used to RIPEN and and add COLOUR and GLOSS to your fruits . Traders use 'calcium carbide' a product of the welding industry and a LETHAL poison to generate 'ethylene' instantly which almost immediateky can turn even a RAW GREEN mango to BRIGHT ORANGE fruit.

Venkat Subramanian This is VERY common in ALL fruits you see now - EVEN fruits grown orgaicaly in FARM, becuase this is done at LAST MILE , just in front of your eyes... why you ask ? becoz we live in a fast food nation, need evrtryhing just-in-time, cant wait for nature , and prefer IMPORTED EXPENSIVE WAXED 1 YR OLD WASHINTON (waxed) apples v/s DULL , SEASONAL ONLY , Himachal apples ....WHITE skinned KAREENA KAPOOR over DARK skinned
