Sorting of Integers

Hi
I'm using the checkbox widget to filter by bpm (Beats per minute),
but the sortorder in the viewlet ist kind of alphabetic instead of
numeric.
Second problem is that it seems that no item seems to be recognized
for the values in that filter.
Values are stored in a fieldindex.
What would be the best solution to solve this?
