At SUNY Albany, we are transitioning from Blackboard 8 to Blackboard
9.1. It's ok, though annoying at times because creating selective
releases can be tricky. There is definitely a specific Blackboard
learning curve.

For a few of my doctoral classes, we've collaborated with students at
Russian universities and they use Moodle. I really enjoyed using it
and would like to have more opportunities to experiment with it.

I've also used Angel as a student for my Master's work.

Of the LMSs that I have used, I definitely prefer Moodle.

Hi Christina,
This Willy fromhicago State University. I used Moodle at CSU for about
6 years before we adoped Moodle last summer. I personally had a high
learning curve but was able to set everything up in Moodle by the
beginning of the fall semester. I prefer Moodle over Blackboard now
becaue Moodle offers more opportunities. This summer I designed my 2
summer classes in Moodle using the Book module which , at first took
me a litle time to learn since I had no assistance, but I now prefer
the Book module to either the weekly or topic arrangement.
I still use Blackboard at a community college where I teach a couple
of online courses part-time, and in the every use of both systems,
Blackboard does not cut it.

Try this link for this Moodle. It is hosted by Rose Hullman in Indiana
and is open to the public all over the world. They have a grant from
Ely Lily to host this as well as there are classes offered by the
University on the Moodle applications. It is a very well run Moodle
with help assistance available.

As for spelling mistakes, try Firefox as your web browser. It has a
built in spell checker so you always look sharp.

I will have a blog post coming out tomorrow with my adventures in LMS-
land :-)

We have WebCT Vista now, but since that support is ending in a couple
of years we are looking for replacements. Blackboard will be sold off
later this years, so I am wondering how that will shake things up:
