struggling with dates

Hi everyone, 

I am trying to figure out how to operate from a global perspective this coming year, much of it in Africa or Europe or China.  I need to come back to North America 4 or 5 times, and there seems to be some fixed pins in the map for early September and early - mid Dec.

Combined with times that I'll need to be in Toronto, I now need to figure out how I can make the Fall Educoder "jamboree" meeting.  We had talked about October, and then November.

I'm now wondering if it is conceivable that we could gather in late late Nov (after thanksgiving) or early Dec.

Thanksgiving is Nov 24, so I'm wondering about maybe Nov. 28 - Dec 2 week?  Maybe Dec. 1 - 4?

Then I could fly back to Toronto and have a dissertation defense that needs to be scheduled for Dec 10 or so.

Thanks for considering - and for responding ASAP, so I can start organizing.

ps- Asilomar looks like it has wireless internet now.  I think it really may be the right place for this meeting.

I'm probably at Online Educa in Berlin Nov 30 - Dec 2. We're demoing MIRACLE.

ok, I've gotten 8 positives on the Dec 1-4 dates for Educoder 2011 at Asilomar.

1 person said Nov 28-Dec 2 was better.

1 person couldn't make Nov. 28-Dec 2

I know that some educoders out there have sent these notes to filter boxes, so they will never read them.  Hopefully others can chime in now.  I'm not saying it will be the "end of an era" or anything, but certainly the last of the CCSIP funding, and maybe an important/defining moment for Educoder.  Plus, asilomar is awesome.  (unfortunately, they do all the food in a weird, throw-back kind of cafeteria.  But we can still buy beer and wine. 

 

We are getting quotes now from Asilomar - I will be trying to finalize the dates by end of July or so.  I'll send out another note on this before finalizing - and maybe a "housecleaning" homework for all of us.

thanks again - and please let me know about these dates if you have any sense, one way or the other.
