Dear GLOBE Educators,

The following message regarding an on-line Climate Literacy Course may
be of interest to you. The course is offered at University of
Colorado at Boulder from July 6 to 28th and the details are:

An online course designed to help educators infuse the Essential
Principles of Climate Literacy into their classes or programs is being
offered by the University of Colorado at Boulder's Continuing
Education program: http://conted.colorado.edu/climateliteracy

Developed by the CIRES Education and Outreach group at CU Boulder,
which has been involved in the development of the Essential Principles
for several years, the course is offered as a one credit course for
GRTE Professional Development credit.

Using online courseware, the course will delve into the seven
essential principles and overarching guiding principle for climate
literate individuals and communities that have been reviewed and
endorsed by more than a dozen federal agencies involved with the US
Climate Change Science Program: http://www.climatescience.gov/Library/Literacy/

Participants in the course will examine misconceptions and pedagogical
challenges relating to the essential principles and fundamental
concepts, and develop a detailed lesson plan or strategy for how they
plan to make use of Climate Literacy in their educational environment.

Scholarships are available for eligible Colorado teachers that will
cover 80% of the cost of the course. There are a limited number of
openings available for this course.
