Wishing all a very Merry Christmas.

That includes you too, Yads and PJR. To paraphrase an old
Tom Lehrer song,

On Christmas Day you can't get sore
Your fellow man you must adore
There's time to bash him all the more
The other three hundred and sixty four..

I'll be off line for the next coupld of days and spending
time with family and friends.

Merry Christmas to you John and to everyone else.

Thank you for the verse, how very appropriate!

Enjoy your holiday and the time spent with friends and family, after all
that's what this time of year is all about!

Add to that, his emphasis on "me first" leads me to wonder
of the purpose of the posts was a sincere Christmas wish to
other posters, or just an attempt to score brownie points by
being first.

Considering the cross posting of his original message, I'm
inclined to agree.

On a related subject, today I was talking to a bus driver
while running a couple of errands. She was complaining
about her 23-year-old son who is living with his
grandmother, doesn't have a job, and spends most of his time
on the computer.

Couldn't help thinking how this guy reminds me of a
40-somthing poster to Usenet.

If he wants people to think his seasons greetings are
sincere, he's going to have to change his behaviour. And he
is the only one who can change that behaviour.

It's even scarier if he actually compares himself to Chamberlain, as if he

The problem is, he didn't compare himself to Chamberlain.

The doctor was comparing himself to someone Chamberlain was
placing into his own killfile.

As I said in another follow-up, he couldn't have set himself
up better if he'd tried.

I guess, to make the comparison more authentic, he needs to

Yadsworld would be similar to Hitler's vision anyway; smiting down
non-believers, sinners, and gays. It'd be a very dark world under Yads.

No argument there.

And it's not a world I would care to live in. Ever.

Heck, I'd probably get a one way ticket to one of his
"summer camps" for non believers. (Anybody who doesn't
agree 100% with the doctor's theology would, I expect, get
such a ticket.)

Yup, the camp would be filled with homosexuals, Catholics,
non fundamentalist Protestants, atheists, women who had sex
outside of wedlock even once, alcoholics, . . ..

You know Doctor, I have tried to respond to you with some modicum of
respect in the past, but the best you can do is to accuse everyone of
being a troll, a term that you do not seem to understand the definition
of. Pity, I have other friends who are Liberals, and who I can actually
have an intelligent conversation with even though we do not see eye to
eye in political matters. You on the other hand continue to respond
with childish insults, pre-pubescent behavior and general idiocy. You
are a gross disappointment, Herr Doktor.

Roooiiight..... I suspect that your ignorance of that term is about
equal to your ignorance of the term 'troll', and that you will still be
posting followups to JF. You are so predictable, Herr Doktor.

I guess, for a change, the truth hit fairly close to home
for the doctor.

But you know, if the doctor behaved like someone of his age,
made intelligent contributions to the Usenet threads he
joins, and treated other posters with respect instead of
calling them names, nobody could make those kinds of
comparisons.

LOL, sysadmin my ass

He probably thinks that typing "plonk" is all it takes to put someone in a
killfile. I am actually surprised he would even risk a killfile considering
his fears that his computer will catch fire.

He truly is a pathetic little twit isn't he.

I'm guessing it is a figurative "Plonk".

After all, for the doctor, not using a kill file like any
honest, God fearing Usenet denizen reduces the risk of fire.

(One day, he might actually back up his claim that kill
files can destroy your computer.)

Perhaps he can give us a full on demonstration by actually setting his
computer on fire?

Your assessment of him was probably correct (eg that he doesn't
know what a plonk is).

He could post it to YouTube for all to enjoy.

Really Doctor, disagreeing with your views does not equate to being a
'bully'. Your hyperbole is growing tiresome.

I disagree, I honestly don't think he has a clue as to what it means.
It just sounds 'hip' for him to use the word.

I agree. He most likely thinks that uttering the remark makes him look
'hip' in some odd fashion. He's a pretty odd fellow, and somewhat
scary at times.

Very well then, please explain what the term means. And why you chose
to respond to JF just one post after you uttered the term "plonk". Go
ahead, I'm waiting.
