Upgraded to an 8 port so I have my 4 port router for sale:

It is a Linksys BEFSR41 (ver 2) EtherFast 4-Port Cable/DSL Router

$40

If interested you can call me at 780-473-9065 and ask for Tim

Thanks,

GG

I am interested in a router

however, can you kindly tell me why would should I spend $40 on your router
vs. buying a brand new D-link router for $37?

Maybe because it's a better router costing $65 new at Memory Express?

better is a choice of opinion, sometimes 30 dollar routers perferm just as
well as a 100 dollar router.

If the DLink is the WBR-2310, WBR-1310, or DI-604/524/624, you are
better off getting _any_ other router. They are horrible routers.

The Linksys is nice router, but older, and doesn't have wireless.

If you are just using it wired, then it will be fine.

Linksys is the only brand of router I have ever used that I have never had
any trouble with. Luck? Maybe, but it certainly my choice for any future
router purchases until circumstances change.

I've used the router FS and I currently own a WRT350N and a 650N, all of
which were incredibly easy to set up and worked flawlessly.

Nothing but trouble with D-Link and SMC routers in the past.

My 2 cents. :-)

I was looking at D-Link Ethernet Broadband Router (EBR-2310)

that is not in the same category of wbr-2310, right ?

I believe it is a wired model. I don't like nor need wireless ones.

I definitely won't touch dlink switches they do freeze up once in a while
and if hot and busy freeze often requiring frequent cold boot. I have seen
that happened for 5 out of 5 Dlink switches I dealt with

Exactly - I am not forcing you to buy mine, if you rather have the cheaper one, then go for it.

If you want mine, then give me a call - I based my price on what new ones (same make and model)
are selling for at Memory Express. Why should I buy your Lexus when I can get a brand new Sunfire for less???

...and, yes, as pointed out, it is not wireless (since I did post the model number, you can look it up on the internet).

anyways...Cheers,

BTW - FYI, all routers have switches built in. If it is a 4 port router, it means
that it is a 4 port switch behind a router - it does NOT mean that each port
is a router.

Now, if you were buying a commercial grade router, the story is different,
hence the big price difference...

thx. I was talking bout dlink pure unmanaged switches of 12 ports or more.
not switches on routers

I had troubles with most D-Link (older ones actually, like the 604 and
stuff) but this new one, DIR-655 is amazing (using the beta update as
shaw has issues with DHCP) and also the dlink gamerlounge are
amazing. My netgear router lasted me 3 years before kicking the
bucket, SMC and older Dlinks were full of trouble.

I would opt getting one with intelligent or any QOS :)
