Shaw PVR Extender

Folks:

I had no idea that Shaw was offering this product. It generally
seems pretty basic. An external HD and they will probably
enable the SATA port to make it work.

Anyone have one that could offer a review?

there is $50 discount at London drugs BTW. may be there a return period you
can try out

We just got it and the pvr for $250.00 this month....its a 1 terabyte
extender.....seems to work fine.....it is usb....i guess it would work on
any computer if you wanted it to......dont know why not. something like 600
hours of recorded tv 400 in HD.....way more oprah and doctor phil that i
could watch thats forsure.

Would it now allow "any" generic USB drive to work.....it looks like a
Western Digital World Book, but have they built in some proprietary
firmware?

Are you sure it's USB? All I'd heard of on the forums is that the
external drive should be connected to the eSATA port on the Motorola or
Pace PVR boxes, so you need an eSATA cable, eSATA enclosure, etc.

USB would be much better - I have a couple USB enclosures I could use
already!
