has anyone got experience shopping for new minivan lately
has any one tried the dodge 2010 grand caravan or se?

they seem to have great crash test ratings and have a lot of safety
features, However I failed find anything about awd or 4wd even from Chrysler
site

could not find crash rating for GM's latest minivan model. I heard it's
cheap and fuel efficient but never liked it's older line up of minivan
before

I used Chrysler and Toyota minivans before. however Toyota was expensive
and the dealer near the whyte... was not that great in terms of service

I just started to look for a bottom or middle level trim minivan. So far
hard to say what will be my choice. In addition to brands you mentioned,
my shopping list includes Honda, KIA, Hundai.
Did you look at resale value of some of minivans? Some are dropping fast
and I wonder why? Over supply or quality?
Please share your findings.

Regarding dated look of minivans available on NA market. I wonder why
Nissan (if I'm not mistaken owns Renault) does not bring here such a
beauty like Renault Trafic.

I looked at Kia Sedona. It does have so called highest 5 star front, side
impact and 4 for rollover resistance.

However I don't like its deceleration forces on the femur, pelvic. my mom
is a frequent passenger and she's osporosis

I'd stay way from KIA as you have to go back to the dealer for all your
service ie. brakes, tires, etc. A friend had a hard time finding a place
for an oil change, he finally ended up going to the dealer to buy the oil
filter and takes it to a quick lube for an oil change. he found that at the
dealer the list of things he should do was quite long compared to the lube
place and the dealer needed to keep the car all day so he had to rent a
loaner.

Makes sense to go to a dealer at least once per a while. It is hard to
believe that a lube place tech knows specific needs and is trained as
well as factory/dealer trained tech to service all brands all models and
notice small problems before they became big and expensive.

Possibly places like CT,PS,NAPA etc did not have enough time to catch up
and do not sell parts for KIA yet, but give them time.
Service tires at dealership? Why? Does KIA has some kind of KIA only
super brand of tires and no any other brand is allowed? Strange.

Service list? Hard to say for sure without taking a look at the list. If
lube place list is shorter, his KIA might be missing some, possibly
important parts of regular maintenance eg greasing steering and
suspension elements or checking valve clearance, or checking tension of
timing belt or emergency brake adjustment or,or,or.....you name it.

Sadly good regular maintenance is more than engine oil change. There is
a pretty good chance your friend will be soon complaining about poor KIA
quality with out knowing that his car problems are his own fault.
