Next Walk - Saturday 12th May

East & West Lomond hills, Fife (Saturday 12 May)

This walks starts from the centre of the picturesque village of Falkland, and soon ascends via wooden steps and beech woods onto the slopes of East Lomond (1471 feet).  Views from the domed summit of the hill across the Fife farmland are excellent.  Descending to the Craigmead carpark we follow the more gradual ascent to the higher of the two Lomond hills – West Lomond (1713 feet), with expansive views of Loch Leven and the Ochils beyond.  Returning to Falkland, we pass some interesting features, including a waterfall behind which the walk continues and Mapsie Den with its stone built tunnel and wooden bridges.

Remember to bring walking gear, waterproofs, lunch & drink.

Grade: B
Distance: 9.25 miles
Approx: 4.5 hours
Meet at Fairmilehead @ 9am

If you'd like to join the walk, please e-mail your ramblers number (or else if it's your 1st/2nd walk with the group), details of any relevant
medical conditions and contact number to J Astbury. And whether you're able to drive.  Joanne’s email: ja...@mypostoffice.co.uk

Thanks,

Joanne.
