SEED SWAP!  Mark your calendars for Friday, July 6th.

Mesa Farmers Market is held every Friday (and has been going on year-round for about 15 years), on Center Street, south of University, on the east side grass area.  The SEED SWAP will be from 9 a.m. to Noon at the market, and I will be guiding participants with a Q&A on sowing in the summer and helping with questions in general.

FREE and you do not have to have seeds to participate.  Come on out and get started gardening with edibles or add to your garden options.

The internet can be helpful (I do a lot of research without having to get out of my chair), it can be very frustrating also.  And sometimes it can be fun.  I discovered "Pinterest" a month or so ago through Deane's daughter.  I really could not figure out exactly how it might be useful until I realized I am always collecting ideas, making notes, and I either try to type/add them to the computer or click and save - but really I don't have much of it organized - and  BINGO the advertising push of Pinterest as a bulletin board hit me.  Now when I see a really good idea, I can add it one of my categories on Pinterest and I can forget it until I need it.

Gardening -- as we go into the humidity of our hot summers remember that you may need to adjust your watering.  Higher humidity means less evaporation. Make good use of your water meter/moisture meter to keep your gardens growing.

As the night time temperatures go up and settle into the 80s your tomatoes will stop setting fruit.  Maintain them through the summer and they will give you a new crop in the fall after those temps drop back down.  Do Not Prune sun damaage to the tomaotes until early fall.
