Dear Folks,

My friend Jean Groen is hosting some fun classes at the Boyce Thompson

Next the list of class dates at the BTA. These programs are included
with your admission price to the Arboretum. Please also consider
becoming a member of the BTA and help support one of the few State
Parks which gets almost all of its funding from memberships and
admissions.

The first Seed Swap/Share hosted by the Mesa Farmers Market and
presented by me on Friday July 6th was a great success. I should have
counted the envelopes but I think about 100+ went home with folks.

Watch for the next one - we are looking at either September 28 or
October 5th at the same location, the Mesa Farmers Market on Center
south of University.

I am also in discussions with two locations for programs in the far
east valley and Central Phoenix for a program in October. Will keep
you posted on dates etc.

Mesa Community Garden is OPEN for users to rent sections for
gardening.

http://www.mesaurbangarden.com/

This community garden is expected to be transformative to the center
of Mesa and the community. In addition to individuals renting space
and growing their own, the garden volunteers will be distributing
produce to the community, a restaurant is planned to have a patio IN
the garden, and a new 'green' area is being added to downtown Mesa.

HEAT stress tip: Don't forget to keep hydrated - if you or someone
has a sudden problem with the heat, try a salty chip with real sugar
or honey on it along with the water or a glass of real fruit juice cut
50/50 with a good shake of salt in it.

Have a great day, and be kind to yourselves.

Catherine
