i was forwarded your false allegation from someone monitoring
change.org
Since your are representing the community on your support for the levit proposal you should be aware of the support going against it. you could take that anyway you want.
As i mentioned before, anytime you want to educate yourself on the value of the Jerry Garcia name and what it has done to McLaren Park, please let me know.
You clearly have no idea.
Here's my statement that went to the chronicle:
"Since the naming of the amphitheater in honor of local Excelsior District Native and musical icon Jerry Garcia, we have seen a tremendous amount of improvement and activity in McLaren Park. We have Jerry Garcia to thank for much of that. Having his name on the amphitheater created a landmark and destination point for many in this area. It is unimaginable and unthinkable that anyone would consider changing the name of the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater to Levitt Pavilion, a non-profit from LA. This is not the San Francisco that I know."
As someone who wants to "improve" the community - Read it. Learn it. Know it.
As for your "support" on Jerry Day, you can keep it.
It's amazing that you claim yourself an Excelsior Native and your willing to throw an international icon's name who came from the neighborhood out the window like a piece of garbage. All of this in front of his daughter. Such class.
That meeting last night was horrific.
I only wish I could go back the night you were elected president of EDIA. You won by one vote, correct? Wonder where that came from.
What a joke. Keep drinking the kool aid.
And remember this, four people do not equal the community or own a park. Your hands got caught in the cookie jar. Now you have to deal with it.
Good Luck. Don't contact me unless you want to have a sit down.
Good bye.
Tom
