Subject: Professional Training--Sept 25

Econ-dev:

There is plenty of preliminary interest, so the next professional training
class is a "go."

It will be held at the Edward Lowe Foundation September 25-28th.
Announcement and preliminary agenda attached.  Contact Jess...@lowe.org for
a registration link and additional details.

Southwest Michigan is beautiful in the autumn..classic Americana.  The
foundation did a nice job of capturing the 2,600 acre Big Rock Valley nature

Based on the feedback from our previous participants we are continuing to
improve the program-and in particular to move more quickly to practical
implementation using the tools and concepts.  More case studies, more
practice, more walk-through's on how we pull together our reports and
recommendations.

We will also establish a community page on Ning to allow participants to
start sharing issues, stories, photos and resources.   We will use this same
site for follow up coaching after the training session.  The video segments
of all the PowerPoint modules will also be on this site for early viewing.
No more handling CD's.

I am working on some national standards with Mark Lange (CEO of Lowe)  to
ensure that programs have the best chance of being successful.  We will
publish these shortly.
