Senior Thank You Notes / Class of 2013

A QUICK GUIDELINE FOR SENIOR THANK YOUs

 

First of all, congratulations again to all of you who received Department Awards, Cal Grant Awards

from the State of California, University grants and scholarships from your various schools,

and scholarships from various organizations on Awards Night!!!

 

HERE ARE SOME QUICK TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Cal Grant Recipients - NO NEED FOR THANK YOU NOTES
• Department Awards (Outstanding senior in English, etc.) - please email the teacher that nominated you and thank them or send them a thank you note through the mail
• University or college Award - is it an honorarium? Yes. Is there no name attached to it? No.
• Scholarships won or awarded from an organization - a thank you note is imperative.
• lastly, you must thank your teachers and counselors and any other contacts who wrote recommendation letters for you. Most often, this is done on their own time. Remember they are doing you a favor. Please let them know with an appropriate thank you note (or even drop off a tray of cookies) - let them know how much you appreciate their time.

For Teachers and Counselors, mail to the following address and the notes will be

placed in their teacher/counselor mailbox:

I am honored to be the recipient of the __________________________________scholarship. Your generous support is

helping me fulfill a lifelong dream of going to college.

I am glad to have the opportunity to thank you personally for your generosity. Without donors like you, many students would be unable to pursue the career of their dreams. My future plans include pursuing a career in ________________________.

My first semester of college I will be a freshman at __________________________.

I offer my sincerest thanks for your generous support. Thanks to organizations such as yours,

my goal is now within my reach.
