As of today if no 'provider' or 'source' property is specified in the incoming ActivityStream feed, Echo StreamServer uses the default 'jskit'. We are going to change the default value from 'jskit' to 'echo'.
The modification is scheduled to be released on Mar 1, 2012.
Will it affect the results of my search queries? ------------------------------------------------------------- Since the 'provider' or 'search' properties may be used in search queries, the change will affect the results returned by such queries. For example, if your search query contains 'provider:jskit' or 'source:jskit' the newly posted items with 'provider:echo' or 'source:echo' will not appear in this query results.
What should I do to avoid the wrong results of my search queries after modifications are released ? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------------------
You should augment all queries containing predicate 'provider:jskit' to specify '(provider:jskit OR provider:echo)' instead of the 'provider:jskit'. The same replacement should be made for 'source:jskit'. This will ensure the queries will return items submitted before and after we release this change.
Please let us know if you have concerns, questions or foresee any issues.

Several days ago we announced that we are planning to release the change in the default value of the 'provider' or 'source' property: 'jskit' will be replaced with 'echo'.
The tentative date of these modifications release is Mar 10, 2012.
We will keep you posted
Thank you.

We've just released this change announced last year.
The default value of the 'provider' or 'source' property is changed from 'jskit'
to 'echo'.
We do not expect this fix to affect any customers, but if after this release you
are missing Tweets in your Echo Streams, please refer to the beginning of the
thread and edit your Echo queries accordingly.
Let us know if you experience any difficulties.
Thank you.
