I downloaded this audio clip from wikipedia - a Beatles song: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=File%3ABeatles_eleanor_rigby.ogg

I ran it though Echopring codegen and the result was this code:

I did a GET to http://developer.echonest.com/api/v4/song/identify?api_key=<my key>&version=4.12&code=<the-above-code>

No results were found

{
  • {
    • response
      {
      • status
        {
        • version"4.2",
        • code0,
        • message"Success"
        },
      • songs: [ ]
      }
    }

Did I pick a bad song? Why is the version 4.2 - would that make a difference? Something strange happening with ffmpeg and ogg?

According to this (probably outdated) list: http://echoprint-data.s3.amazonaws.com/echoprint-list-of-tracks.txt I see:

TRNSIVW123E8599754 --- The Beatles --- 1 --- Eleanor Rigby

I've also tried on a few different over-the-air recordings, but I haven't been able to identify any of them.

Am I doing something wrong? Could someone try the file I provided and see if they get the same results? Or maybe post an audio file that has been successfully ID'd and I can try it through my binary of codegen?

OK, this is strange. I can confirm this, and am looking into it. Thanks for the heads up.

The problem is on our end and we have identified its cause. We need to update the database, which we're working on anyway. Once this has been done you should see this query work as expected.

In the meantime, please try a different (non-Beatles) test case.

Hi,

I am having the same issue, I tried to identify tracks from 2Pac and Alphaville and both are listed on http://echoprint-data.s3.amazonaws.com/list_of_songs.txt

I am running the iOS sample on an iPad but i am getting "no match" and this response :

response =     {

        songs =         (

        );

        status =         {

            code = 0;

            message = Success;

            version = "4.2";

        };

    };

Any idea ?

Hi Hatem,

When the server returns no matches, it could be due to one of several reasons. In your case, i.e., if you are using the iOS sample, then it's most likely due to the fact that over-the-air (OTA) matching is still a work in progress.
