Slight tweaks (dash in dist-upgrade; sudo for normal Ubuntu users):

  sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && sudo reboot

Hello, I'm using some error trapping when creating instances
(detecting ec2 node startup errors) -- can this failed rtc_cmos probe
can be safely ignored in this 11.10 cloud release?

[    0.184461] platform rtc_cmos: registered platform RTC device (no
PNP device found)
[    0.489854] rtc_cmos: probe of rtc_cmos failed with error -38

I'm loading us-east-1 x64 instance store (ami-4fa37426).
