A new release of the Ubuntu Cloud Images for stable Ubuntu release
8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) is available at [1]. Images are available for
download or immediate use on EC2 via published AMI ids.
There are several updates since the 20100827 release [2].
The largest change is in the kernel. Previously we had used a kernel
build that came from a PPA for our EC2 kernels. Now, we are able to use
the 'linux-xen' (linux-image-2.6.24-29-xen) build from the Ubuntu 8.04
archive. This change improves our ability to maintain the EC2 images for
8.04 with very low possibility for regression.
You should use the new AMI ids to you have kernel security updates.
