I've been trying to boot and run user data file scripts on the eu-west
Canonical AMI's  e.g. ami-0e0f3d7a.  but they just error "cloud-final
main process (613) terminated with status 1"

The exact same code and script work if I use the us-west instead with
the corresponding image.  its madness.....

just wondered if anyone else had come across this..

Can you send me a copy of /var/log/cloud-init.log? Also, do you see the
same thing with ami-57192723
(http://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/maverick/20120201/), which is a newer
daily build of the Maverick line.
